Information Society Standardization System (ISSS)

CEN/ISSS is the name given to CEN's ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) sector activities. It provides market players with a comprehensive and integrated range of standardization services and products, in order to contribute to the success of the Information Society in Europe.

Conferences and open meetings

  • CEN/ISSS has agreed to become a supporting organization of the Open Standards Forum 2008 on 'Security challenges for the information society' which will be held from 29 September to 3 October 2008 at CA-hosted Historic Ditton Manor near London.
  • The eGov-Share WS is organizing an open meeting on 20 October 2008 in Rome. The aim of the event is to present the last developments on the Workshop deliverables (CWA).
    This open meeting will be organized in relation with the EIISG2 summit.

Calls for experts

We sometimes make calls for paid experts in given fields to draft standards material. The detailed requirements are in Project Team Terms of Reference linked from this page. Interested candidates should submit their CVs and a cover note expressing their motivation to the relevant contact, prior to the closing dates indicated.

RFID – a new standards collaborative project

The Global RFID Interoperability Forum for Standards (GRIFS) is a Support Action Project funded by the European Commission with the aim to improve collaboration and thereby to maximise the global interoperability of RFID standards.
